MDA National’s Ian Anderson announces retirement

The Directors of MDA National wish to advise that our Chief Executive Officer, Ian Anderson, has given notice of his intention to retire, and by agreement with the Board, will leave the MDA National Group at the end of November 2024.

At the time of his retirement, Ian will have been with MDA National for almost 10 years. Under Ian’s leadership, there have been major changes within the organisation, including the building of a strong executive and management team who are well positioned to continue to lead and drive MDA National in pursuit of our strategic objectives. They remain committed to delivering on our purpose as we head into our 100th year of supporting our Members. ‘It has been an absolute privilege to cap a 30-year career in health by having the opportunity to work with so many talented, capable and focused people working together to contribute to the high quality of health care in Australia.’ Ian said.

MDA National Mutual Board President, Dr Michael Gannon said: ‘On behalf of all at MDA National, we want to thank Ian for his contribution to the organisation and outstanding leadership. During his tenure, Ian has led the team in building a purpose-driven, service-led, sustainable and financially strong organisation that continues to keep our Members at the heart of everything we do’.

As a result of Ian’s retirement, the Board has commenced a process to appoint a new CEO to lead the Group through its next phase of growth and development. We will announce the outcome of this process when completed.

The Directors and all his colleagues in MDA National wish Ian the very best in the years ahead and thank him for his valuable contribution to the organisation.

Dr Michael Gannon, President MDA National Limited &

Mr Terry Agnew, Chairman MDA National Insurance
